Picture the Past: Tall and Small (level 1.1) Pictures tell a story. Look at this old picture. What do you see? In the summer, the circus moved. It had a train. The train moved from town to town. In the winter, the circus came home. The train stopped. Our town was the circus’s winter home. In the winter, the circus rested. No big tent. No noisy crowds. No packing and unpacking. Workers had a break. Clowns took off their big shoes. Elephants ate. Horses played in the fields. Tigers slept in the sun. And what did this giraffe do? Make up a story about this giraffe.
